For very busy or very inattentive traders under MT4, special indicators-switchmen have been developed, which are a combined tool (consisting of several basic indicators). They do not clutter up the schedule, but their formula aggregates the formulas of several tools. And the most pleasant – the signals are marked by arrows. Saw the arrow – open position (well, or check the accuracy of the signal). One such switchmen is the Sidus-2 indicator.

Sidus-2 Trading Rules

The Sidus indicator is based on two classic indicators: exponential moving average and relative strength index. Moreover, the EMA is used in the second version of the indicator; in the first version, a simple sliding one was used. Both templates for comparison can be installed in MT4, but both versions still have one problem – redrawing. Because the strategy refers to high risk. And if at the upward (downward) trend of one Sidus indicator is enough, then in the flat you should add EMA 180 or MACD to it. What exactly to add is determined by the method of selection and testing.

Indicator Settings:

  • Period Fast EMA = 14;
  • Period Slow EMA = 21;
  • Period RSI = 14.

The timeframe is H1, a currency pair is any with high volatility (EUR / USD, etc.).

The indicator shows a buy or sell signal by drawing arrows of red (sale) or green (purchase) color. The principle of signaling is a specific location of the fast and slow RSI moving relative to the price and location (above level 50 – sale, below – purchase). Stop-loss set at 20 points, the target value of profit – 15-20 points.

A few recommendations for working with the indicator:

  • Some versions may have bugs. For example, the indicator draws arrows that constantly cause a loss. Or there are explicit signals to enter, but the arrows do not appear. Solution: download the Sidus indicator from official sources (MQL5, etc.). Sometimes corrected versions are posted on the forums;
  • Keep an eye out for the robot. Deviation of results by more than 10% of the test results is a reason to stop it;
  • Analyze the code and add it with your own work. Maybe you should add some indicators or use the improved 5th version (although its results are somewhat worse than the second);
  • trading at the time of news release is not recommended. At the moment of high volatility, the indicator gives a lot of false signals.

It will be interesting to know the opinions of blog readers who are already familiar with this indicator. What improvements in it would you suggest? Join the discussion in the comments!
